Standard electric wheelchairs for rent in Istanbul

A standard electric wheelchair rental in Istanbul is the right choice when comfort and stability matter more than the lowest weight. Standard electric wheelchairs have a sturdier frame, a wider seat and stronger motors than compact travel models, so they suit users who will spend most of the day in the chair, taller or heavier users and anyone who needs extra support. We deliver the chair charged to your hotel or home and collect it at the end.

Features of a standard electric wheelchair

  • A wider seat, typically adjustable up to 46–53 cm, with a padded backrest and armrests.
  • A user weight limit of about 120–135 kg, depending on the model.
  • Stronger motors that handle gentle slopes and kerb ramps more easily.
  • Lithium or gel batteries for a range of about 10–25 km per charge, depending on the model.
  • A joystick on either armrest, adjustable footrests and an automatic brake.

A good example is our large standard lithium electric wheelchair, which combines a roomy seat with a lithium battery. Some standard models are heavier than folding travel chairs, so check with us if you plan to put the chair in a taxi often.

Standard or folding electric wheelchair?

Choose a standard electric wheelchair rental in Istanbul if the user needs a stable chair for long hours, has limited trunk control or needs a wider seat. Choose a folding lithium electric wheelchair if you will fold the chair for taxis several times a day. If you only need occasional help on long walks, a manual wheelchair pushed by a companion may be enough.

Ideal for longer stays and hospital visits

Many of our customers rent a standard electric wheelchair for a longer stay with family, for recovery after treatment in an Istanbul hospital, or for a visitor who uses a powered chair at home. The extra comfort makes a real difference when the chair is used every day for a week or more. Delivery to hospitals and homes in districts such as Şişli, Beşiktaş, Kadıköy and Üsküdar is part of our service.

Safety tips

  • Drive at walking speed in crowds and on pavements.
  • Approach kerbs and ramps straight on, never at an angle.
  • Switch the chair off before transferring in or out, and keep the footrests up when standing.
  • Do not drive on stairs, very steep slopes or wet, slippery surfaces.

If anything goes wrong, call or message us and we will repair or replace the chair. For help choosing between models, contact our team, or see all our electric wheelchairs.

Comfort settings we adjust for you

At delivery our team sets up the chair around the user: the joystick on the stronger hand, the armrest height so the shoulders are relaxed, the footrest length so the thighs lie flat and the speed setting to a comfortable level for the first drive. We also show the companion how to put the chair into freewheel mode, so it can be pushed by hand if the battery runs low. If the user’s needs change during the stay, call us and we will come back to adjust the chair. This personal setup is included in every standard electric wheelchair rental in Istanbul.
